“How much CBD should I take?”
If this is your first time exploring the world of CBD (cannbidiol), then this is a question that may frequently pop up in your mind. So, how much CBD should you take?
At Canna Relief, our educators like to remind customers to go by the rule of starting low and slowly working your way up the dosages. “For CBD, that means beginning on the low end of a regular users’ daily amounts, such as 5 to 15 milligrams,” explains Scott Douglas, author of The Athlete’s Guide to CBD. “If you’re using a tincture, that will be part or all of one dropper of a standard-potency oil.”
The key to using CBD to help alleviate anxiety, depression, pain, and more is to find your “sweet spot.” This “sweet spot” is the dose that gives your desired effect. But if your initial does doesn’t have an impact on your body, try this tip: slightly increase the dose (i.e. try a few more drops) if you don’t notice a difference after the first hour or two of your initial dose.
You know you’ve reached your “sweet spot” when you’ve found relief from pain, anxiety, inflammation, depression, etc. If you notice that CBD is making you too sleepy, you may have surpassed the “sweet spot” and taken too much CBD. (Don’t worry, you can’t overdose on CBD!) In this case, scale back a bit until you’ve reached your desired relief.
Due to genetics, medications, health status, lifestyle, and more, everyone has a different reaction to CBD. Some people may only need a little amount, others may require a larger dose. One brand may work for your parents or sibling, yet a totally different brand may be more appropriate for yourself. As Laura Lagano, author of The CBD Oil Miracle explains, “There is no one-size-fits-all solution for any given condition. Two similar people with similar conditions can have completely different reactions to CBD delivery methods and dosages.”
Overall, patience is key to finding your sweet spot. Consider creating a journal to keep track of your dosages; try other delivery methods (i.e. capsules, edibles/drinks, oils, sprays, etc); and don’t forget to consult your physician to make sure drug interactions with CBD will not occur.
